Frequently Asked Questions :
Does my child need to be good at art ? I believe that most children can be good at art - they just need to given a range of things to try and plenty of encouragement. Generally we draw something in front of us - at the museum,  for example, and then work from these drawings to make prints, paintings and sculptures. I always demonstrate different ways of drawing as well as the other techniques and encourage the children to work quickly. Usually they succeed without having thought about it.
What ages are the children in the class ? Generally from 7 - 14 years, but occasionally there is a  keen 6 year old or an equally keen 16 year old. The range of ages is a good factor - the younger children admire the older ones' skill and the older ones admire the youngsters' spirit.
Where are the classes held ? The locations include the museum, Gorgie Farm, the zoo and Deep Sea World. The studio work is done at WASPS Artists' Studios, Dalry, near Haymarket Station.
What should they bring ? Everything is provided, except a packed lunch. Old clothes for messy studio work are advisable.
How big are the classes ? Usually up to 15 children - I am assisted by an experienced and talented teacher.
