This exciting course will guide students from the sketchbook study to the finished canvas. Beginning with a video tutorial and an email brief students will then work both on location and in the studio to explore different themes and develop their own approaches to composing figurative paintings. On location, students will gather information using a variety of drawing media : charcoal, ink, pencil/oil bar oil pastels and collage - and in the studio students will develop their studies into painted compositions
A recent location was the Union Canal at Lochrin Basin. Our model held 30 minute 'canal worker' poses and the students were introduced to working in ink and wash - first with line and then with tonal starts. Early booking is advisable as the class is limited to 15 places and often fills up. If there are spaces once the term has begun it may be possible to attend on a drop-in basis at a daily rate of £45 per session. Please enquire. to book a place contact: [email protected] |
